Pete Gitlin Takes Over Top Spot on the Smooth Jazz Now TOP 50 Countdown
Aug. 31, 2012 – He’s on fire on Smooth Jazz Now! Guitarist Pete Gitlin has just scored his very first #1 song on the Smooth Jazz Now TOP 50 Countdown. “I’ve been a fan of Pete’s music for a few years now,” says John Beaudin, Program Director and host on Smooth Jazz Now Radio. “There is a warmth and a special flavor to his music and this format needs that,” Beaudin adds.
The Arizona based guitarist moved from #7 to #1 unseating Boney James’ ‘Deep Time’ which was at the top for two weeks. ‘Amplify’ is the title tune to Gitlin’s latest album. He also holds the #28 spot with ‘Another Day in Paradise’ and his ‘Lucky in Love’ is at #40 spot.
Two new tunes entered the chart this week, Chris Standring’s ‘Pandora’s Box’ at #34 and Greg Adams `Carry On` entered at the #45 spot.
The highest climbing song this week was Gerald Albright and Norman Brown’s ‘In the Moment’which moved up 22 slots to #8.
