Massage Therapy
We can all receive massage until we bend like Gumby but unless we
go to the source and quite the mind or "stop the war" as some
Buddhist's say, that back spasm or migraine may just come back. Massage
on it's own is one of those deliciously relaxing and healing experiences
that seems to block out the heavy mud that got us stuck in the first
place. I know some people who remember their first massage better than
their first sexual experience! It can be that good but stress is mind
oriented and this new CD more than just being a great soundtrack for
Massage or Reiki is in itself an inner massage. Natural Massage Therapy
claims to "nudge the brain-waves first to alpha level (fully awake
relaxed state) and then to theta level, a meditative state, close to
sleep, that feels almost dreamlike." That's quite a claim. After
reading my fair share of get "It" quick self help books and
listened to enough new age music for 100 lifetimes I've turned into
a New-Age-Cowboy who doesn't believe too quickly. So the only thing
I was expecting from a Solitudes CD was music to snore to and besides
Dan Gibson's flowing water nature sounds always making we want to go
pee!
Well it works! Natural Massage Therapy is peaceful, light and stress
less in that Kava Kava kind of way. After listening to this a few time
I actually felt deeply rejuvenated and relaxed. Ron Allen's music coupled
with Gibson's nature sounds results in no nonsense peaceful passages
with a gentle tranquilizing effect. I know what you're thinking, aren't
New-Age nature sounds albums all destined for the $ 2.99 delete bin?
Sure most of the time but the Solitudes series has always been in a
higher league of quality and most albums in the series oozing that introspective
spirit. A lot of CD's promise to get you in the "zone" but
this one truly delivers. -by John Beaudin
