On
his newest release Grammy winning trumpet player Chris
Botti has displayed his passion for music and Italy and the
result is pure art! The music transforms you to scenic Italy led
by his incredible virtuosity on trumpet. The tunes transcend time
and boundaries with influences of classical, film score and jazz
standards all bringing out the romantic Italian in all of us. Highlights
include the magnificent title track co-written with David Foster
with lyrics from Lorenzo Cherubini, featuring a world class vocal
performance from Andrea Bocelli and the seduction of Botti's trumpet.
This will easily be another smash for Botti. On 'Venice' his romantic
trumpet glides seductively through the canals of the mind and heart
bringing those cherished moments from our past to the present and
a smile once again to your face. Then be prepared to be hypnotized
by the return of vocalist Paula Cole on a gorgeous rendering of
'The Very Thought Of You' that is beautiful and moving
it is
an instant classic. Also expect great renditions of 'The Way You
Look Tonight' and Franz Schubert's timeless 'Ave Maria'. But the
highlight of the disc is a spellbinding version of 'I've Grown Accustomed
To Her Face' featuring the timeless vocals of the immortal Dean
Martin. Interestingly Botti recorded the tune in the exact same
room where Dino first tackled the song years ago. The music on this
disc transcends formats with wonderful orchestrations and arrangements
that deserve repeated listens to and should be a major addition
to the music connoisseur's library as it has become to mine. - by
