David Klee who holds a doctorate in flute performance from the University of Georgia says, ``Radio today is all about programmed music-music that is the same no matter what station you turn to (all pop stations play the same music, all rock stations the same, etc.). There is no individuality to the radio stations anymore.`` Klee whose new album can be downloaded here adds, ``It is all but impossible for an indie musician to even be heard on regular radio. Satellite radio, even though much of it is also programmed, does offer at least more variety in styles. Internet radio seems to be the way to go now. I feel that, with internet radio, the playing field is wide open for all types of musicians whether they are major label or indie.`` - by Eddie Sziwick |
