Calgary: $210,000 raised at the Children's Cottage Radiothon on california 103 fm

The 8th annual Children's Cottage Radiothon raised in excess of $210,000. The event was broadcast live on local radio station california 103 fm and took place at The Core (Calgary Eaton Centre/TD Square).

"This is our biggest annual fundraiser and it is thrilling to be able to exceed our goal" stated Children's Cottage Executive Director Patty Kilgallon. "This is the fourth year we have worked with california 103 fm and it just keeps getting better each year" continued Kilgallon. The charity had set a goal of $200,000 for this year's event.

"california 103 fm takes community service very seriously, we are very proud that the Children's Cottage chooses to partner with us on this very important fundraiser each year" Newcap Radio Calgary General Manager Stephen Peck. Calgary is a generous city and we never cease to be amazed by the generosity of our listeners add Peck.

"The phones started ringing right from the start and continued throughout the day" enthused california 103 fm Program Director John Beaudin.

The event featured on-air appearances from Ken Pattenden - President of Taco Time and Board Member of the Children's Cottage, Chris Gerritsen from the Calgary Sun, who has attended each of the 8 Radiothons, Dave Jones CEO of Wealthstreet & Concrete Equities, members of the Calgary Stampeders and Calgary Hitmen, Jim Peplinksi, Jim Dinning, Aldermen Joe Ceci and Madeline King.
