Baltimore’s Smooth Jazz WSMJ Flips to Alternative
May 23, 2008 – And they keep falling down! Another Smooth Jazz station has disappeared, this time Smooth Jazz WSMJ in Baltimore.

The Clear Channel station started the transition by stunting this morning by playing Christmas Music and calling themselves Christmas 104.3. The first tune for the new format “Channel 104.3 was Linkin Park “Given Up” followed by 311 “Down.”

Earlier this week WSMJ PD Lori Lewis left the station issuing the following station, "WSMJ/BALTIMORE will always be special to me," she said. "It was my first ... PD job, that is! I moved to BALTIMORE on this weekend in 2002, and as fate would have it, on the same weekend six years later, I would be wrapping up my time in CHARM CITY and looking forward to something new."

WSMJ will change calls to WCHH effective MAY 29th at 12:10a. – by John Beaudin
