19, 2005 - Jazz Artists boast an impressive showing
in support of relief efforts to aid New Orleans and
the flood victims. Louisiana natives Harry
Connick Jr.
and Wynton Marsalis
participated in the first Hurricane Relief Telethon
mounted by NBC on September 2nd. Last week New York
City's jazz and blues community kicked off a weeklong
drive entitled "When the Saints go Marching In",
with proceeds from all participating New York clubs
and jazz bars going to the American
Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund.More

Pat Metheny Group will close the 26th edition of the festival from the Main

Baker Announces Tour Dates June
7, 2005 - Anita Baker's recently released
album "My Everything" has sold half a million copies, along with receiving
two Grammy nods, and garnering two hit singles in "You're My Everything",
and "How Does it Feel". The singer goes out on tour in support of the

Sign of New Eagles album as they Ready Summer Tour May

over seven years ago has been mostly about touring. The band has not released
a whole album of new material since 1979's 'The Long Run' and have been working

for the new album in spite of the fact that all four members were working hard

2, 2005 - Anita Baker recently told NBC,
"Back in the day, the music industry was my God," she said. "But
I have got kids, and I can't do a tour unless they are out of school." What's
that mean for us? A summer tour from the Jazz diva when her boys, aged 11 and
10 are off on summer break. According to Baker's official website her design team
is putting all the pieces together now for a tour that could start in late June

Williams to Sing for Tsunami Victims January
31, 2005 - Vanessa Williams is a busy
girl. Her new album "Everlasting Love" is set for release tomorrow with
a promotional tour to follow but the singer has still found the time to help out
in the Tsunami effort. Williams will appear in concert Feb. 11 at New York's Carnegie
Hall to raise funds for survivors of the recent tsunami tragedy. Proceeds from
the evening will go to AmeriCares. More
