Nov. 14, 2008 - While fans, broadcasters and even some musicians are predicting the death of Smooth Jazz, at the very least, the radio format is evolving. Radio Consultant Broadcast Architecture has come up with Smooth AC, a more vocal hybrid of Smooth Jazz. Don’t expect more instrumentals with that genre though. 
Oct. 21, 2008 - Jonathan Fritzen is the new sensation in smooth jazz piano. The Swedish emerging talent is only 25 years-old, but his debut solo album “Love Birds” was a one man show, composed, performed and produced by him and already displays signs of a future star in smooth jazz piano. 
Sept 17, 2008 - Ken Navarro represents a breed of Smooth Jazz musicians that could possibly save the format or at least be one of its hero’s to bring it back in case it disappears. Navarro doesn’t play the R&B/Groove machine that some say is killing the format. The guitarist simply shots from the hip and soul.
