Navarro was born on June 9,
1953 in Lafayette, Indiana. Ken
began his recording career in Los
Angeles as a session guitarist.
In 1990 Navarro released his debut
album 'The River Flows.' In 1991
his release 'After Dark' was selected
for screening by the Grammy nominating
committee. Navarro's next three
releases all reached top 5 in national
radio. His 1995 album 'Brighter
Days' was voted #9 Album of the
Year by Smooth Jazz Radio. Ken is
the founder of Positive Music Records
which is responsible for launching
the careers of Brandon Fields, Grant
Geissman, Greg Karukas and Marcus
Johnson. |

Corea was born on June 12, 1941
in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Studying
piano at the age of four he grew
up listening to Charlie Parker,
Dizzy Gillespie and Horace Silver.
Chick joined Miles
Davis' band playing electric
Piano then formed his own band 'Circle.'
Corea's awards stretch far and wide
with countless Grammy Awards and
nominations. In 1992 Corea and manager
Ron Moss formed Stretch Records,
a label committing to stretching
musical boundaries. |

| Marcus
Miller was born on June 14, 1959
in Brooklyn, New York. Marcus knew
how to play several instruments
before he entered his teen years.
At age fifteen Miller secured his
first professional gig with the
New York club band Harlem River
Drive. Miller began having steady
work with the likes of Dave Grusin,
Earl Klugh, Grover Washington and
Bob James. In 1993 Miller began
a solo career with the release of
'The Sun Don't Lie.' He is also
famous for his work with David Sanborn.
His 2002 M2 Album won a Grammy for
'Best Contemporary Jazz Album.' |

Ivan Lins was born on June 16, 1945
in Rio de Janeiro. In the 1960's
while finishing his degree in engineering,
Lins participated in music festivals.
In 1970, he performed 'O Amor É
o Meu País' at the finals
of the International Song Festival
and placed second. Lins pursued
a career in the US where Quincy
Jones, George
Benson, Sarah Vaughan and Barbara
Streisand recorded his songs. In
1991 Lins and his partner Victor
Martins founded the record label
Velas. Ivan Lins is currently one
of the most recorded Brazilian composers
abroad. |

Dave Grusin was born on June 26,
1934 in Littleton, Colorado. Growing
up in a classical music background
his father, a classical violinist,
gave him inspiration for music.
His first break came when he was
the Music Director for Andy Williams
and playing piano on several of
Williams' songs. He composed the
music for the theatrical hit 'The
Graduate.' Grusin was nominated
for two Academy Awards for 'Heaven
Can Wait' and 'The Champ' and has
composed the music for Maude, Baretta
and St Elsewhere. In 1982, Dave
and Larry Rosen formed the record
company GRP. It was sold in 1991
to MCA.' |
