Carmichael was born on January 1, 1953 in London, England.
He studied classical guitar at London College of Music
and went on to play with various jazz groups. He hooked
up with Nick Webb in 1986 and formed Acoustic Alchemy.
The band first signed with MCA's Master Series label where
they debuted with "Red Dust" and "Spanish
Lace." They have three Grammy nominations to their
credit and a 2001 Jazz Trax "Album of the Year Award."

Ritenour
was born on January 11, 1952 in Hollywood, California.
He was classically trained and took lessons from Joe Pass
and Howard Robert. He jammed with the likes of David
Sanborn,
Grover Washington Jr, Larry
Carlton
and Tom
Scott
at the Baked Potato in North Hollywood. His debut album
was "First Course" and he has several gold albums,
seventeen Grammy nominations, one win for "Harlequin"
his 1986 collaboration with Dave Grusin. He was co-founder
of the group Fourplay and later replaced by Larry
Carlton. |

Culbertson was born on January 12, 1973 in Decatur, Illinois.
He began his musical training at age eight on piano and
before the age of thirteen he had tackled the drums, trombone
and bass. In 1994 he signed a deal with Mesa/Blue Moon
and recorded his debut album "Long Night Out"
which spent ten weeks in the Top 5 on the Adult Contemporary
Charts. His 1995 follow up album "Modern Life"
dominated the radio charts at #1 for eight weeks and his
first #1 single came in 1997 "So Good." |

Elliot was born on January 16, 1960 in Glasgow, Scotland.
He started playing sax at age eleven. By the seventies
he had backed up Smokey
Robinson
and The Temptations. He then joined the group Tower of
Power in 1982. He signed with Manhattan Records and started
recording instrumental solo albums. He is also the founder
of PacificNet, an Internet Multimedia Company. |

was born on January 16, 1959 in Ibadan, Nigeria. In the
80's she joined the group Arriva. One of the more popular
songs the band performed was "Smooth Operator"
which became Sade's first hit. Her debut album "Diamond
Life" went Top 10 in the UK. In 1985 it was released
by CBS/Portrait Label and before the year was done it
went Platinum. Her song "The Sweetest Taboo"
stayed on the pop charts for six months. In 1986 she won
a Grammy for Best New Artist and she has over 30 million
album sales to her credit. |
