Bromberg, born December 5,1960 in Tucson, Arizona. He began his professional career
as a drummer at age 13. In high school he switched to the instrument that made
him famous , the bass guitar. In 1979 Bromberg got his first big break when Mark
Johnson heard him play and reffered him to Stan Getz who he teamed up with shortly
after. His first solo recording was "A New Day" in 1986. His fourth
release "BASSically Speaking" went Top 5 on radio charts and # 7 on
Billboard sales chart. In 1998 the bassist released the #1 album "You Know
That Feeling." |

Brubeck,
born December 6,1920 in Concord, California. He was exposed to music at an early
age. Brubeck graduated from the College of the Pacific with a music degree in
1942. The pianist formed the band "The Brubeck Trio" in 1949 and then
"The Brubeck Quartet"in 1951. Their first release "Jazz at Oberlin"
in 1953 had modest success and a contract with Columbia Records. Their fist record
with Columbia "Jazz Goes To College" sold over 100,000. Brubeck was
the first jazz artist to grace the cover of Time Magazine.He has played for Four
Presidents (Kennedy,Johnson,Reagan,and Clinton) and received a Lifetime Achievement
Award from the National Academy of Arts and Sciences... |

Bob
Baldwin,
born December 9,1960 in Mount Vernon, New York. At age four he discovered his
ability of perfect pitch with the help of his father. Baldwin studied classical
and jazz and was inspired by Oscar Petterson, Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock.
Bob Baldwin's 2000 creation Bob Baldwin.com reached #17 on the Billboard Contemporary
Chart. His 2002 Narada Jazz debut was "Standing Tall" featured the single

Washington Jr, born on December 12, 1943 in Buffalo, New York. He started playing
sax at age ten and was playing professionally two years later. He recorded "Breakout"
with Johnny Hammond which became a bestseller and established Grover as a major
new voice on sax. His debut as a leading Instrumental Artist "Inner City
Blues" was released in 1971.Three albums followed and in 1980, Washington
released "Winelight" which earned him two Grammy's for Best Jazz Fusion
Recording and Best R&B song "Just the Two of Us". The album has
sold over two million copies. He died December 17, 1999. |

James, born on December 25, 1939 in Marshall, Missouri. He started playing piano
at the age of four. His big break came in 1962 when he made an appearance at the
Notre Dame Jazz Festival and caught the eye of Quincy Jones. Moving to New York,
he began to be a well respected composer and arranger and a in-demand session
pianist. James won a Grammy in 1980 for "One to One" with Earl Klugh
for Best Pop Instrumental Performance. He was named Jazz Artist of the Year By
Cashbox that same year. He is also famous for his recording of the theme music
for the hit show "Taxi". In 1991 he started playing with the super-group
Fourplay. |
