Vortex Jazz Club Re-opens May
30, 2005 - After closing its doors a year ago for renovations, one of London's
best Jazz venues, The Vortex, is once again open for business. The club, which
has a much celebrated history of supporting Jazz, will resume its position as
a premiere place to be on the London Jazz scene. The site however, is still a
work in progress. Responding to enormous pressure to reopen its doors, the club
has opened as functional but still "under construction". It will be
summertime before the new dressing rooms are complete, and the kitchen remains
closed, though the bar is fully operational. The programme of performers is available
