Mclachlan Gives Video Budget To Charities October
7, 2004 - Sarah Mclachlan's new video
cost 15 dollars - really! The singer has donated the budget for her latest video
"World On Fire" to 11 different charities for a total of 150-thousand
dollars U-S. The video directed by Sophie Muller shows a simple performance by
McLachlan. It's interspersed with scenes displaying the standard cost for video
production compared to the costs of food, medicine and education. Also expect
to see scenes from Afghanistan, India, Southeast Asia and Nairobi but it didn't
cost anything as everything but the price of the tape was donated for free. "World
On Fire" is also the first video available for download on I-tunes. Sarah
McLachlan Causing 'Stupid' Stir July
30, 2004 - Every songwriter wants to come up with a lyric line that sticks to
the bone - you know the tunes, the ones we can't get out of our heads. Sarah
McLachlan's hit single 'Stupid' seems to have done exactly that. Unfortunately,
some of the fans are young kids obsessively repeating the word 'Stupid.' Some
mothers are not pleased and they are letting the singer know at concerts and other
public appearances. McLachlan says she doesn't consider 'Stupid' a bad word, but
maybe it is if you're a little kid. McLachlan who is a new mother says she hasn't
had to deal with those issues yet but can understand the concern. In the song,
the Vancouver singer calls herself stupid! Sam

McLachlan Finally returns with Afterglow September
30, 2003 - It's hard to believe that Sarah McLachlan hasn't released an album
of new material in six years! Her last 1997's "Surfacing" went platinum
eight times over and had steady airplay for 2-3 years after its release, giving
the impression that the singer's music was fresh. The new album "Afterglow"
to be released on November 4th already has a hit with the first single "Fallen."(Currently
# 12 on our national chart) McLachlan is filming a video for "Fallen"
with Director Paul Fedor (Santana's "The
Game of Love") in her hometown of Vancouver. McLachlan says the album was
inspired by life and death - the birth of her daughter India and the death of
her mother from cancer in 1997. McLachlan will tour the new album in 2004.
