Santana Get's Head Start Tour on New "All That I Am." CD
May 26, 2005 - Santana may have pushed back the release date of their new album to September 6 but it's full speed ahead for the new tour to support it. Carlos Santana and company will kick off a north American tour on May 30 in Tampa, Florida and end on October 14 in Carson, CA (dates below). "All That I Am" the follow-up to 2002's "Shaman" will follow Santana's recent formula of including big name guest vocalists. This time around Los Lonely Boys will be guesting as well as Mary J. Blige, Will I Am and OutKast's Big Boi. Santana said the album is in it's final stages. "'All That I Am' is an extension and continuation of a vision co-created by Mr. Clive Davis and myself," Carlos Santana said in a statement. "We equate what we do with the dimensions of a three-ring circus or a Cirque du Soleil where children, teenagers, parents and grandparents can share unity and harmony in the family of life. We create songs and magic pairing to bring joy and happiness to the listener." - by John Beaudin

Carlos Santana No Fan Of Smooth Jazz
July 18, 2003 - Guitar legend Carlos Santana recently spoke frankly to the Denver Post about Spirituality, his comeback and his distaste for Smooth Jazz. Here's what he said, "I will say that, to me, smooth jazz is John Coltrane and Miles Davis playing ballads. What they call smooth jazz today is more like coma music. You're in a (expletive) coma and you've got tubes up your nose and you're begging, 'Please unplug me or turn it off.' It has no huevos, no vitality or vibrancy. These people are afraid to show real emotion on the radio. I don't mean screaming or rapping until they're blue. I'm talking about putting heart and soul and wisdom into the music." Fattburger recently covered Santana's "Black Magic Woman." For the whole interview go to. http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,36%257E24769%257E1499101,00.html?search=filter .
