The interest so far is his much anticipated follow up to 2006’s ‘The Evolution of Robin Thicke.’ The new one ‘Something Else’ will be released on Star Trak/Interscope on September 9. The first single ‘Magic” is already No. 32 on Billboards Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Charts. Again the new project features long-time partner Pro-Jay. Thicke says the album is, "Classic Philly, Motown and '70s black disco meets the creativity of the Beatles and Bob Dylan." Thick says, "I felt like a lot of stuff out there sounded the same. Plus, there are a lot of things going on in the world with the recession and the war. It made me feel like everybody really just needed something new, something else," Thicke told Billboard.com. "It's time for a change and there is hope for everyone."
‘The Evolution Of Robin Thicke’ has sold 1.5 million copies in the United States.

Thicke Gives High Marks to His "Good Guy" Son
Robin
January 24, 2008 - "People never forget," that's
what Alan Thicke says. The popular entertainer best known
as the Dad in "Growing Pains" told Smooth Jazz
Now in an exclusive interview that he taught his son Robin
to be good to the people around him. "Robin's
a fine young man," says the elder Thicke, "He
had a pretty good exposure to the business and he knew a
lot about how to treat people and this is before he became
a star." Alan Thicke who wrote the book "How to
Raise kids that Don't Hate You" adds, "It's like
Robin trained for all this so he's a good guy and so far
I hear nothing but wonderful things when I follow him or
run into people who have dealt with him." Robin's breakthrough
album "The Evolution of Robin Thicke" was released
October 2006 and his dad reminded us that there was lots
of success before that CD, "he had been writing for
other people for about 10 years and had 15 platinum records
for people like Usher and Pink and wrote a song for Michael
Jackson so he was everywhere before his own product came
out." - by John Beaudin |

Robin
Thicke Drinks His Jealousy Away
June
27, 2007 - Ok, let's be honest, we all get a little jealous
sometimes. Maybe it's a hungry gaze, that female co-worker
he claims is just a pal and don't get me started on the
trouble you can get into on the web. Robin
Thicke trumps it all! His wife, actress Paula Patton
had a steamy sex scene with rapper/singer Andre 3000 (of
Outkast) onscreen in "Idlewild" and things got
tough for the crooner. "I was a total f**king drag,"
says the son of TV's Alan Thicke, "Being vulnerable
and sensitive is a good thing, but being a bitch-a** with
no strength? No woman wants that. I had to man up."
Thicke found himself struggling, so much so that he tried
to drink his troubles away. Needless to say the pair will
not be joining the Outkast fan club anytime soon. - by John Beaudin
