Koz and Rendezvous Deliver 'Golden Slumbers 2 - A Father's Love' With Richard
Marx May
3, 2005 - Rendezvous records has not
been around that long but in a few years the label has produced some of the biggest
hits in Smooth Jazz including Praful's 'Sigh,'
'Marc Antoine's successful 'Mediterraneo'
album and Michael Lington's bouncy 'Show
Me.' Now the inspiration that started the company 3 years ago, the original "Golden
Slumber - A Father's Lullaby" is going a bit further with 'Golden Slumbers
2 - A Father's Love.' More Richard
Marx Talks About Plan B August
10, 2004 - Always have a backup plan. That's the word from Richard Marx today
as he releases his new album, 'My Own Best Enemy.' The singer who spends more
time these days working as a writer and producer for other artists says originally
he wasn't interested in doing the album. He told a label executive, "I don't
do that anymore," but he changed his mind when he realized that many fans
may have forgotten about him so maybe there would be no pressure to return. As
for the backup plan Marx says if the album flops he'll just perform a few selected
dates to promote the CD and if it's a hit expect a huge tour. The first single
and video from the album is 'When You're Gone.' Richard
Marx Says Luther Vandross May Never Perform Again June
11, 2004 - Richard Marx has a new album
on the way but recently he's been fielding more questions about Luther
Vandross. Marx has worked with Vandross for the last ten years including co-writing
his recent hit 'Dance With My Father.' He says it's doubtful that Vandross will
ever perform again but in the same breath says if anyone can bounce back it's
him. ''There are times when he's like his old self," says Marx "but
it's almost like Alzheimer's, in that sometimes he drifts in and out of where
he thinks he is.'' Vandross suffered a stroke on April 16, 2003. Marx' new album
'My Own Best Enemy' will be in stores in August.
