IRS
Collects from Peabo Bryson August
25, 2003 - It's been a tough week for singer Peabo Bryson as the IRS are in the
process of liquidating his assets to collect unpaid taxes the singer allegedly
owes. According to a federal tax lien on file at the Fulton County courthouse
Bryson owes the Internal Revenue Service 1.2 million as of 2000. Last week the
IRS used large moving trucks to carry away contents from a mansion that are believed
to be Bryson's. The Mansion is not owned by the singer. IRS spokesman Mark Green
told the press "We have exhausted all measures to collect some unpaid taxes,
and this is the very last step that we had to take." Bryson has had problems
with the IRS since 1980. The 52 year old Bryson had a huge hit and won a Grammy
with Celine Dion in 1992 for "Beauty and the Beast." He won another
Grammy in 1993 with Regina Belle for the hit "A Whole New World."
