Mariah Carey Prefers Dogs to Children April 26, 2008 – Mariah Carey doesn’t really consider herself a mother type unless your name is fido. The singing star told Britain’s OK! Magazine that she wouldn’t feel comfortable as a mom, "I never wanted to feel violated and I know that's a kind of weird thing to say, but that's how I am.” That’s a strong statement but the diva says it’s because of “childhood traumatic stuff.” Her parent’s separation was tough she says, “I'm not saying it was unstable but it's not ideal either." In previous interviews Carey has made it very clear that if she ever considered children she would have to have a stable married life, something that has evaded the singer. "It's hard to have kids in this world. I don't think I could properly educate a child right now. Maybe in the future, but I actually haven't thought about it. For now, I enjoy my dog Jack's company,” says the singer. – by John Beaudin
