Manhattan
Transfer Signs With Telarc -
New Album In September
August
20, 2003 - The Manhattan Transfer have covered a lot of ground since
forming in October of 1972 including journeys into R&B, Bebop,
Brazilian and Pop. The new album recorded live in Japan and the first
of three on the Telarc label will have the quartet performing pieces
mostly from Swing era voices. "Couldn't Be Hotter" will
be released on September 23rd but is already getting good early buzz
Jazz Review said "this impressive set shows that the Transfer
is still at the peak of their collective powers." Member Janis
Siegel has recently charted on Smooth Jazz Now's chart with her
solo album "Friday Night Special" featuring Hammond Organ
sensation, Joey DeFrancesco.
