Jeff Kashiwa Ready to "Play" June
4, 2007 - The are a handful of sax players who
still know how to write and produce catchy Power-Pop-Smooth
Jazz, the kind that makes you want to take to
the road, banging the hell out of the steering
wheel with reckless abandon. Jeff
Kashiwa may have been the cause of more than
a few parking tickets - oh hell I guess it was
worth the drive! Kashiwa is set to release his
new album "Play," his fourth album on
the Native Language label and sixth overall. The
Sax-man most known for his huge hit "Hyde
Park" or the "The Aah Ooh Song' as it's
sometimes known has always been a busy-beaver
playing with Acoustic
Alchemy and most notable Russ
Freeman and the Rippingtons. In a world where
artist trust is as rare as comprehensible sentence
from Paula Addul, Kashiwa has earned his props
in consistency. We can almost bet this one will
be great. "Play" will be out on July
31. - by John

Jeff
Kashiwa and Richard Smith Helping Kids April
15, 2003 - If you would like to own the alto
sax Jeff Kashiwa played on the big hit 'Hyde
Park'(The Ooh-Ah Song)", you can and
you'll be helping underprivileged children.
Jeff Kashiwa and guitarist Richard Smith both
from Native Language records are raising funds
for music education programs in the U.S. Kashiwa's
sax will be auctioned off on EBAY and will
benefit the New Mexico Jazz Workshop plus
he's expected to do some clinics to raise
more funds. Smith will help kids in south
central L.A. with a program called 'Guitar
Masters which provides instruments for inner
city kids at the Challengers Boys and Girls
Club. Jeff is off to Europe in May to start
the next leg of his tour and Smith will release
his next album on Native Language on May 20th.
