Canada's
Female Talent to Shine at Toronto Jazz Fest June
22, 2005 - Fifteen female jazz vocalists are set to take the stage on Canada Day
at the TD Canada Trust Downtown Toronto
Jazz Festival. The Real Diva's Concert will feature Heather Bambreck, Emilie-Claire
Barlow, Stephanie Bowskill, Eliana Cuevas, Lori Cullen, Andrea Menard, Liberty
Silver, Dione Taylor, Suzie Vennick, Bonnie Brett, June Garber, Maureen Kennedy,
Samina, Angela Scappatura, and Melissa Sylianou. The concert will highlight the
incredible range of Canada's female vocal talent by showcasing everything from
a 6.5 octave diva to an 11 year old diva in training. Accompanying the Real Divas
will be Bill King on piano, Chris Gale on saxophone, Jake Langley on guitar, Duncan
Hopkins on bass, Larnell Lewis on drums, and Luis Orbegoso on percussion. Smooth
Jazz highlights at the festival include Diana
Krall, Roy Hargrove's RH Factor, Madeleine
Peyroux, and Rita Chiarelli, and the already sold out Matt
Dusk/Jacksoul outing. The TD
