Cullum Set To Return with Summer Album March
7, 2005 - Jamie Cullum wants to expand his boundaries on his next album. So much
so that you may not even recognize what he's doing. The pianist had been hanging
out with hip-hop producer Dan the Automator and rap producers the Neptunes. He
says the album set for release on Verve this summer will have a drastically different
sound adding that he's experimenting with sounds on his computer and piano. His
last "Twentysomething" sold two million but the next one is sure to
focus on a younger audience. Cullum had two independent albums before last years
"Twentysomething," "Heard it all Before" a very rare CD which
recently sold for $700 on Ebay and "Pointless Nostalgic" from 2002. Smooth
Jazz Nominees at the Grammys December
8, 2004 - Looks like the sun won't set any time soon on Norah
Jones. The singer was nominated for five Grammys yesterday including nods

The late Ray Charles was another multiple
nominee with seven (his album had 10 nominations) and the biggest artist heard
on Smooth Jazz radio was Alicia Keys with
eight nominations.

Cullum Readies Live DVD November
10, 2004 - As great as his "TwentySomething" album is true fans of England's
Jamie Cullum say his strength lies in his
live shows. Remember the crazy seventies Elton
John stage antics? Well Cullum has given that same stamp to Jazz. You can
check it all out on November 16 as Verve releases "Live at Blenheim Palace,"
a 90 minute concert DVD. Expect most of the songs from his "Twentysomething"
CD as well as rare footage of the singer/pianist on Britain's "I Want To
Be A Popstar" TV show. On Nov. 23 Verve will release a deluxe two CD repackaging
of "TwentySomething" featuring videos and lots of extras. Jamie
Cullum Talks About Drugs July
12, 2004 - Young Jazzer Jamie Cullum says
he'll "try anything once" and that includes drugs. The 23 year old recently
spoke quite frankly about illegal drugs "I don't let anything get in the
way of performing, but I like to have a laugh," says Cullum, "I don't
like to be in the dark about stuff. I'm fairly fearless when it comes to all that
(drugs)." The British singer/pianist say's that he's open when it comes to
drugs but is also clear he's not interested in promoting the use of illegal substances.
Cullum's second album 'Twentysomething
on 'Verve records was released on
May 11 and is currently charting "Frontin.' Verve
Breaks Jazz Cliché's With Jamie Cullum May
11, 2004 - He's been called "a one man British invasion" others have
said he puts a little early Elton John into
Jazz. Jamie Cullum (pictured left with Joss Stone) could break down stereotypes
in Jazz similar to Norah Jones but this guy's
tornado type of performing is definitely coming from another angle. Cullum has
been seen jumping on top of his piano shouting out lyrics from classics like Cole
Porter's 'I Get a Kick Out of You.' The pianists stage presence is closer to a
hard rocker than anything in Jazz today but his "in your face" technique
could bring a younger crowd to the genre as has happened in Europe with the album
selling over a million so far. The twenty-four year old released his North American
debut 'Twentysomething' today on Verve.
