Daryl
Hall Diagnosed With Lime Disease July
8, 2005 - Although many of us may suffer this summer from "Tequila and lime"
disease, Daryl Hall has been felled Lyme Disease.
First identified in 1977, Lyme disease is spread by ticks. After a brief incubation
period symptoms such as severe headaches, painful arthritis and swelling of joints,
cardiac abnormalities, and central nervous system (CNS) involvement leading
to cognitive (mental) disorders present themselves. It is treated with a variety
of antibiotics. Hall is expected to make a complete recovery, but Hall and Oates
has so far cancelled or postponed six dates on their current tour. The tour which
was launched last month is in support of their latest release "Our Kind of
Soul". - by Liz Rivard

Hall
& Oates On Hollywood Rock Walk Aug.
8, 2003 - They are the most successful duo in rock history and now Hall and Oates
have found a space on the Hollywood Rockwalk. The duo were immortalized in cement
via handprints and signatures on Tuesday August 5th. In April of 1984, the Recording
Industry Association of America announced that Hall & Oates had surpassed
the Everly Brothers as the most successful duo in the rock era earning a total
of 19 gold and platinum awards. In other Hall and Oates news John Oates has finally
regained control of his first solo CD "Phunk Shui" and is re-releasing
it on his own label, PS Records. For more information on the Rockwalk go to http://www.rockwalk.com/Intro.html. Hall
& Oates Not Blue-eyed Soul April
28, 2003 - For years critics and fans alike have called Hall and Oates blue-eyed
soul but John Oates(left in picture) of the band disputes the idea. He likes the
``soul'' part, but he's got brown eyes. Oates says no musician wants to be labeled
because creative people try to avoid that. He says their music is about soul because
it touches you adding "soul'' isn't exclusive to race or nationality or anything
like that. What do they call themselves? ``Rock and soul.'' Oates says it's soul
music with an aggressive edge.
Both the first single 'Do
It for Love' and "Forever for You' are getting airplay on Smooth
Jazz radio.
