Gino
Vannelli Goes Italian, Spanish, & French June
2, 2003 - Gino Vannelli has traveled down many roads and never staying in the
same spot has sort of become a habit. In the early seventies Vannelli burst onto
the music scene with a moody, synth based sound, by the end of the decade he was
finding success with his California pop/jazz album "Brother To Brother."
In the eighties he returned with the power pop of "Black Cars" and more
recently Vannelli recorded with Verve on the Jazzy "Slow Love." So what's
left? For his new CD "Canto" Vannelli learnt four different languages.
Vannelli hired a vocal coach and learnt songs in Italian, French, and Spanish.
He says working on the accents was very tough but with the help of a coach he
nailed them down. Canto'' is now available in Canada and will be released in the
rest of the world in July.
