Krall Opens Up About Elvis Costello March
4, 2004 - Diana
Krall has been through the ringer
in the last few years so she's not the
only one happy about her marriage to Elvis
Costello. Krall has commented in the past
that her family love Costello and in upcoming
issue of W magazine she'll open up even
more about their relationship. Four months
after marrying Costello life is good for
Krall. Not only did she meet a life partner
but also a songwriting partner. The two
co-wrote six songs on Krall's upcoming
album "The Girl in the Other Room"
to be released in April 27. The pair met
at the Grammy's
two years ago and Krall says Costello
swept her off her feet at an especially
emotional time of her life. Krall was
dealing with the loss of her mother and
Jazz mentors singer Rosemary Clooney and
jazz bassist Ray Brown. Diana Krall is
set to begin a Canadian tour in Calgary
on May 2.

Costello & Elton to Perform at Fundraiser January
19, 2004 - You can categorize this under
the "ultimate dinner music"
file. Diana
Krall and new husband Elvis Costello
along with Elton
John will sing at a dinner on March
5th in Vancouver to raise funds to battle
Leukemia. Krall lost her mother to cancer
in 2002. Her mother was treated at the
Vancouver General Hospital and Krall says
she's grateful for the care her mom got
at V-G-H, adding the fundraising concert
is about celebrating life and love. The
event will specifically raise funds for
the V-G-H leukemia-bone transplant program.
Previous fundraisers from Krall have raised
over $500,000 which has helped buy medical
equipment and assist out of town patients.
Krall and Costello were married at Elton
John's Castle in England last December.
The pair also has a home there as well
as on Vancouver Island. New
Diana Krall Album Due April 27 December

The disc entitled "The Girl In The
Other Room" will be released on the
Verve label April 27th. Costello and Krall
were married December 6th. Diana
Krall, Elvis Costello, Married In Secret
December
11, 2003 - Canadian jazz singer Diana
Krall and British music star Elvis Costello
were married during the weekend in a private
ceremony near London, according to reports.
Around 150 people including former Beatle
Paul MacCartney were invited to a ceremony
veiled in secrecy at singer Elton
John's castle outside the British
capital, according to The Globe and Mail.
Krall, 39, who in February won a Grammy
for her Live in Paris album recorded live
at Olympia in November 2001, met Costello,
49, during the 2002 Grammys. Diana
Krall, Elvis Costello To Wed Soon October
17, 2003 - Sources close to Elvis Costello
are leaking news that the singer plans
to marry Jazz diva Diana Krall in the
next few weeks. The legal side of it was
signed at the Marylebone Town Hall in
London so the couple can marry anytime
after October 29th. Sources say the wedding
will probably be in early November and
that the couple is considering the posh
London Hotel Claridges as a venue. The
two met at the Grammy's last year.
Diana
Krall Upsets Fans at Concert August
13, 2003 - Some Diana Krall fans were
a little miffed with the singer at an
open air concert last week. The show at
the North London stately-home's grounds
has a long running tradition of letting
fans watch performers warm up but Krall's
contract stipulated there would be no
sneak peaks. One fan, Jack Lamport-Mitchell
was very upset. "It's ridiculous,"
he told the press, "In previous years,
Lesley Garrett and Kiki Dee's rehearsals
were two hours and we had a wonderful
time. Diana Krall is a prima donna."
Concert organizers say this was the first
time any artist refused fans access to
the rehearsal. New
Diana Krall CD Scheduled for November
4th July
9, 2003 - Verve records have announced
that Diana Krall will unveil her yet untitled
new album on November 4th. Parts of the
new album are already recorded and the
label says, "look for a slightly
new direction with some tunes by contemporary
pop and blues writers." Krall performed
a few sneak preview shows a few weeks
ago at San Francisco's Yoshi's Jazz club.
Here's what the San Francisco Chronicle
said about the shows,
"I'm
really nervous, can you tell?"
Diana Krall asked the audience at Yoshi's
Thursday.
She
was answered with a round of applause.
Yes, they could tell. The exquisitely
accomplished singer-pianist was obviously
winging it on the first of six sold-out
nights at the East Bay club, and it
was a beautiful thing to see: a performance
that both spotlighted Krall's raw talent
and captured the unpredictable, improvisational
essence of jazz and blues.
Understanding
that the most important statements are
best delivered in whispers, Krall never
resorts to vocal pyrotechnics, though
she has the lungs to do it.
Botti
and Krall Win Three National Smooth Jazz
Awards June
20, 2003 - The ballots have finally been
counted and trumpet master Chris Botti
and Jazz diva Diana Krall each won three
National Smooth Jazz Awards. The new artist
of the year honors were given to Norah
Jones. Check

Krall Working On New Album May
26, 2003 - She's in love, she's engaged
and she's working on a new album. Diana
Krall is in the studio working on the
follow up to her successful "Live
in Paris" CD. Krall says some tracks
are already recorded plus she plans to
return to a San Francisco Bay area studio
this week. Here's what Krall said about
the new project. "I'm working on
a new album right now, too, right in the
middle of it. So I'm going into a jazz
club called Yoshi's for three days with
two different bands, and then after the
three days I'm going to do three days
of recording. So I'm going to perform
in this small jazz club where I started
outside of San Francisco in Oakland, and
that's what I'm doing next week."
So far the "In Progress" album
has no title or release date. Diana
Krall - "My Dad Cannot Tell a Lie"
May
15, 2003 - He leaked her engagement news
to the press but Diana Krall has nothing
but kind words for her Dad. Krall blames
her dad's friendly nature on the news
of her engagement to Elvis Costello getting
out adding that he's "such a kind,
sweet man and cannot tell a lie."
The Victoria Times Colonist called her
parents house and Krall says "the
next thing it's on the CNN ticker."
Krall says her dad is extremely happy
about her engagement. Krall and Costello
have not set a date for the wedding. Diana
Krall and Elvis Costello Engaged May
3, 2003 - Diana Krall is engaged according
to a good source - her father. Jim Krall's
, a chartered accountant in Nanaimo, B
C. told the Victoria Times Colonist that
his daughter is engaged to current steady
Elvis Costello. The elder Krall say's
he's very happy about the engagement,
but has no information on a marriage date
or location, or any other details. Costello
