Candy plays on occasion with Prince's touring band, as well as leading a band of her own. Prince band mates John Blackwell (drums), and Chance Howard (keyboards/vocals) will appear as part of Candy's band during the North Sea outing. Dulfer made her performing debut at North Sea as a member of the Ladies Horn Section in Rosa King's band, and credits the legendary leader with providing her a great example of stellar leadership, and with encouraging her to take the lead herself. Candy Dulfer to Release 'Right in My Soul' May 20th
April 11, 2003 - After a busy year of touring with Prince Dutch saxophonist sensation, Candy Dulfer is set to release 'Right in My Soul' on Eagle Records May 20th. With the Prince connection Dulfer was able to jam with the likes of Alicia Keys, Sheila E., George Clinton and Musiq Soulchild. This new CD should push the boundaries a bit more according to Dulfer who was given total creative control on the project. Word is it'll be a little more funky and fun and should also incorporate the many styles that make up most Candy Dulfer CDs R&B, Jazz and Ambient sounds as well as her wonderful lead vocals on some tracks. This will be Candy's first studio album in four years.
