Annie Lennox Suffers Spinal Injury
Aug. 25, 2008 – Annie Lennox is slowly on the mend after spinal surgery last week. The Eurythmics singer had yet another operation last week to fix an ongoing problem that kept the singer literally on one leg for months. Word from the Lennox camp say she’ll hae to undergo at least six months of intense physiotherapy to get back on her feet. Annie says, "I could only drag my leg around the house. Something told me urgent action was required. I had micro surgery on Friday morning. This is the fifth time I've gone under the scalpel and each time I think it's miraculous. I can now walk again slowly, without the drag, but it's going to take at least six months of physiotherapy before I start to walk more normally again." We wish her a fast recovery. – by John Beaudin

Annie Lennox Loses Contract and It Gets Ugly
January 17, 2008 - What the hell is happening in the music industry? Up to 1/3 of EMI's staff could be let go including many artists being dropped, half of the American Idol top guns are without a label and now Annie Lennox has been let go from Sony - and that parting is not pretty. Yesterday the former lead singer of Eurythmics said, "They totally ignored me,. It was bizarre. It was a kick in the teeth. They didn't return my phone calls or emails for three weeks. I'm trying to find out what's behind it. Probably a good thing I'm no longer with them - mild understatement." Sony on the other hand calls it all "ludicrous." In a statement Sony/BMG confirmed that the two have parted ways but stated it hopes to work with her in the future and would continue to work with Lennox on her current album. The album "Songs of Mass Destruction" was released in October and so far has sold 232,000 copies in the United States. "We are immensely proud to have worked with Annie over more than two decades," said Sony/BMG Music Entertainment U.K. chairman Ged Doherty. "She now has a choice as to whether she wants to continue to work with us in the future. We very much hope that she will."

So far neither Lennox nor her management, 19 Entertainment have reacted to the Sony/BMG statement. - by John Beaudin
