The singer won for "Album of the Year," "Female Artist," "Song" for "Like You'll Never See Me Again," and "Album" for her latest "As I AM." Keys was originally scheduled to perform with the dead ghosts of Tiny Tim, Sonny Bono and Ethel Merman at the ceremony but Keys was suffering from exhaustion from lack of sleep since last Sunday's Grammy Awards. Michael Buble and Alicia Keys Vying For 2008 International Music Awards

Jan 30, 2008 - Internationally acclaimed Canadian vocalist Michael Buble and American diva Alicia Keys are competing with other famous artists for international music recognition in 2008.

Both artists have garnered nominations at the 2008 BRIT Awards, the annual pop music awards taking place in Great Britain. Buble will feature in "the Best International Male Solo Artist" category and will be opposed to international music stars "The Boss" Bruce Springstreen, record producer and rapper Kanye West, pop songwriter and singer Rufus Wainwright and rapper Timbaland. Keys will feature in the "Best International Female Solo Artist" category and will be clashing with Icelandic cutting edge diva Bjork, Canadian indie pop songwriter and singer Feist and Australian best-selling star Kylie Minogue. The Brits will take place in London at Earls Court on February 20, 2008. Kily Minogue (two nominations), Mika, Rihanna (one nomination), Kaiser Chiefs (two) and Mark Ronson (three) will perform live. The show will be hosted by Sharon and Ozzy Osborne.

Buble and Keys have also been nominated for the 2008 US Grammy Awards. Best-selling vocalist Michael Buble was nominated in the "traditional pop vocal" category for his latest album "Call Me Irresponsible". He will face former rap queen and new jazz diva Queen Latifah and her "Trav'lin' Light". Already nine Grammy Awards-winner Alicia Keys (whose single "No One" is currently in the R&R Smooth Jazz Chart's Top 20) is also on the bill. Alicia Keys Glamour Magazine's Women Of The Year
November 9, 2004 - Congratulations to Alicia Keys who was honored last night (Monday) in New York City as Glamour Magazine's Women Of The Year. The icing for the singer was having one of her heroes Natalie Cole present her with the award. In fact while talking to the press backstage the singer spoke mostly of how much she respected Cole. Keys will headline the Barbados Jazz Festival on January, 10 - 16; the event will also feature the Yellowjackets and Pieces Of A Dream. On Nov. 16 the singer will release a documentary DVD 'The Diary of Alicia Keys' recorded during the making of her album of the same name.

Alicia Keys Ready To Make Her Film Debut
May 17, 2004 - It's not uncommon for musicians to takes film roles that are close to home on their first try. Alicia Keys is no exception. She'll play a woman very similar to herself, Philippa Schuyler, a piano prodigy of mixed-race. Schuyler who was born in 1939 played around the world but ran into quite a bit of racism and had problems fitting into the music culture at the time. She was the daughter of African American author and journalist George Schuyler and white Texan artist and journalist Josephine Cogdell. She died at the age of 35 in a helicopter crash during the Vietnam War. Halle Berry will produce the film.


Alicia Keys Set to Perform in Urban Lilith Fair
February 6, 2004 - It will be called Verizon Triple Threat tour but to most it's already duped an Urban Lilith Fair. Three heavyweights in urban music are teaming up for their own version of "Girl Power." Beyoncé, Missy Elliott,
Alicia Keys and special guests plan to kick off the tour next month in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Elliott called the tour, "History in the making," adding, "I've always wanted to do a Lilith Fair on the urban side." In a press conference Keys promised a bit of everything, "We're all different women with different styles of music," she said. "The shows will be exciting just for that fact."

December 4, 2003 - In case you were wondering, Alicia Keys denies she's gay. She tells ``Access Hollywood'' she absolutely is not gay and she believes her strong-mindedness might make people think that. She says T-V may be a factor in the rumours she's hearing to that nature.
