Green's new album stems from a collaboration between the famous soul vocalist and some of his admirers coming from R&B, soul and hip hop.
It features duets with famous singers John Legend, Corinne Bailey Rae and Anthony Hamilton. The project is produced by Al Green, with the assistance of two of hip-hop's most innovative players, drummer Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson (from the Roots) and keyboardist James Poyser, who has performed with Erykah Badu and Common. Green is also supported on several tracks by the Dap Kings Horns (Sharon Jones, Amy Winehouse), guitarist Chalmers "Spanky" Alford (Mighty Clouds of Joy, Joss Stone) and bassist Adam Blackstone (Jill Scott, DJ Jazzy Jeff). As the mighty musical reverend admits: "It's all from the heart, this whole album, from start to finish."
Al Green's latest CD "Everything's OK" (released in 2006) was the second one to reunite him with his earlier hit making collaborator Willie Mitchell.
