Toni Braxton Continues Dancing Despite Microvascular Angina Diagnoses
Oct. 1, 2008 – It’s been an interesting ride lately for Grammy winning singer Toni Braxton. Not only was she forced to cut short her Vegas show because of pericarditis, an inflammation of the tissue surrounding the heart, she was recently diagnosed with Microvascular Angina. Toni Braxton Continues Dancing Despite Microvascular Angina Diagnoses
Oct. 1, 2008 – It’s been an interesting ride lately for Grammy winning singer Toni Braxton. Not only was she forced to cut short her Vegas show because of pericarditis, an inflammation of the tissue surrounding the heart, she was recently diagnosed with Microvascular Angina. The condition causes blockages in the tiny branches of the coronary arteries. Still Braxton vows to continue her stint on 'Dancing with the Stars' as she is strutting her stuff for week two of the popular series. Word from the set says the singer’s dancing partner, Alec Mazo was completely shocked on hearing his partner’s condition.

The situation is so serious that Braxton has invited her cardiologist to her first rehearsal,
"I was so afraid just to jump, dance, and live life, so I thought this would be a wonderful opportunity to get over my fears," Braxton told the ABC show.

This lady is obviously concentrating on the positive and rightly so. This week Braxton also signed a new recording deal with Atlantic Records. Her last album was ‘Libra’ from 2005. – By Shannon Edwards

Smooth Jazz Christmas 2005
September 28, 2005 - Smooth Jazz artists Dave Koz, Brian McKnight, Chaka Khan, Eric Marienthal, Vanessa Williams, Norman Brown, David Benoit, Toni Braxton, Rick Braun, and Gerald Albright, will all contribute to this holiday seasons "A Charlie Brown Christmas Tribute". The album is due October 4th from Peak Records.

Anita Baker will also release a holiday album with Blue Note. "Christmas Fantasy" hits stores October 4th, and will feature appearances by Joe Sample, Larry Carlton, Nathan East, Ricky Lawson, and all four members of The Yellowjackets. Barry Eastman, who co-produces here, also wrote three original tunes for the outing.

Diana Krall will deliver her first Christmas album in 2005. The outing, "Christmas Songs" will be released on Verve November 1st.

Toni Braxton Returns
June 21, 2005 - The new Toni Braxton single "Please" is getting airplay on radio stations across the country. The track, produced by Scott Storch should prime fans for the release of the singers 6th solo disc due in September. Braxton's last effort was 2000's "More Than a Woman". In the four years since her last release the singer has given birth to her second son, made her television acting debut on the Taye Diggs sitcom "Kevin Hill", and battled a life threatening bout with pericarditis, which lead her to collapse during a concert. The popular singer is now a spokesperson for the American Heart Association. - by Cheryl Philips
