REVIEW - Mike MacArthur – Feels Like Home (4 out of 5 Stars)
March 2, 2013 – I think the reputation of a music reviewer is that of a bitter and jaded curmudgeon living in a van down by the river. Years ago after writing a blistering review of a project that sounded half finished the artist approached me at a club and screamed, “You must spend a lot of time looking for things to hate?” “Actually it's the opposite, I answered, “I use my hours looking for the good stuff, 3/4 of the trip, however, is filled cliched blah!” MORE

Review - Terry Wollman - A Joyful Noise - Mango Eater Music (4 Stars out of 5)
November 18, 2012 - Christmas music is a unique animal. A challenging one. Imagine explaining the concept to an alien, "So we celebrate this holiday and musicians, at least once in their careers, get to record the same 30-40 songs and hope that their versions sticks," MORE

REVIEW - Bob Baldwin – Presents Betcha By Golly Wow – The Songs of Thom Bell – Peak Records (**2 out of 5 STARS)
May 1, 2012 - We live in a world where most instrumental music sounds like it was made for a 5x5 vertically moving room and that includes some Smooth Jazz. Interestingly, most Smooth Jazz musicians are technically some of the best players on the planet but many have fallen into this big vacuous hole, an amnesic state, where channelling Bert Kaempfert is common place. MORE

REVIEW - Esperanza Spalding – Radio Music Society (****4 out of 5 Stars) – Heads Up – Concord Music Group
April 4, 2012 – Esperanza Spalding is a groovy chick. I mean, really, when she’s in the room, everyone else disappears and I’m talkin’ more than that big “love-sculpture” hair. She’s the type of musician you might walk up to at a party, ask about her music, and walk away three hours later regretting the question. This lady has a vision so you better have a seat. MORE

Kennard Ramsey – Somos – 5 out of 5

REVIEW: Colbie Caillat – All of You - Universal Republic
– On her third album Colbie Caillat has decided to strategically give us an uptempo summer-vibe. Caillat co-wrote every tune on the album with different famous, mostly behind-the-scenes songsmiths.. MORE

REVIEW - Michael Franks – Time Together – Shanachie Records

November 4, 2011 - Here is a Canadian crooner who has won over the hearts of many with his genuine voice, captivating smile and boyish looks. The singer has sold over 35 million records worldwide and has won many awards during his solo career.

''I’m more afraid of failure now than I have ever been,” Bublé told British magazine GQ. “It's only recently I've understood the maths of what make artists go up and down. They make too much money. They have too many people blowing smoke up their ass. You have to have that fear and desperation. Always want to do something better.”

Michael Buble Has Regrets About Ex Emily Blunt
Michael BubleApril 6, 2010 – Michael Buble says he is slowly learning about the pitfalls of fame and how celebrity life can make your dreams come true but can also ruin your personal life.

The Canadian crooner says his relationship with actress Emily Blunt, for instance, was in the public eye a little too much. Buble says he was “naive” on speaking of the relationship so openly to the press.

The pair split in 2008 after a three-year relationship and Buble seems to have regrets. In fact he thinks they would still be together now if they had kept more private.

He told the Providence Journal, “We were naive, I think, we were both excited about the relationship, and we talked openly about it, and I think we both learned that when you give away even little things, they’re not yours anymore. So I’ve learned just to keep my private life private.”

Buble says there have been many lessons learned including heavy partying during tour times. “I can’t party on tour any more,” he said. “I think it’s part of getting older — you know your limits.” The singer adds, “I stay sober as I want to put on the best show. It’s bigger now, so I need to be sharp.”

Bublé's record has been certified double gold in the U.K., double platinum in Singapore, platinum in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and gold in Taiwan. In the United States, a number of high profile television appearances have led to a massive jump in the sales charts.

Michael's album re-entered the U.S. charts this week at #47, selling over 47,000 copies last week after his performance on the Today Show and a profile run on NBC's Dateline. Incredibly, Buble's 5 song Christmas EP, Let It Snow, also debuted on the U.S. charts, entering at #56 selling more than 38,000 copies He will return to the Today Show on Christmas day for a follow-up holiday performance. In Canada, combined sales for Bublé's album and a limited edition version that includes the five bonus Christmas tracks eclipsed 15,000 copies in the past week. In addition, close to 2,000 copies of the Let It Snow EP were sold in Canada.

Michael Buble' Gives Thanks to His Mentors
June 11, 2003 - Crooner Michael Buble' has not exactly had a shortage of strong mentors in his life. While working on his dads salmon fishing boat for six years Michael heard a lot of good advice from his father, "don't use your hands please use your head." The elder Buble' would tell his son. "You don't want to have to work like I do." Buble' told Smooth Jazz Now he also had a strong support system in his granddad who introduced him to the classic songs of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
