Nov. 9, 2008 – What the hell is wrong with Mariah Carey’s voice? She sounded like a Buick last week on Simon Cowell’s UK hit show ‘The X Factor.’ Having a bad vocal night is one thing but Carey sounded like she hadn’t sung in years, even a little pitchy, as Cowell’s American Idol pal Randy Jackson would say. The cringe-inducing performances were all caught on tape and though it was not up to her standards, when the dust settles Mimi’s second rate leftovers are still better than most vocalists best nights. Unlike Britney and Beyonce, Carey at least sings live, well, she sang live on that night. Most diva’s who spend as much time dancing on stage as singing are not singing live. If they say they are, it’s a big fat lie. Check out the ‘X Factor’ Mariah clip (below).  August 6, 2008 – Here’s the deal. Mariah Carey is either going for retail therapy to cover up that a bad marriage decision in May or in ‘la la goo goo love land’ and just gettin’ a little privacy for her and Nick. The diva just bought a $5 Million vacation home in the West Indies.
She sure likes to hang out, a source said, “Mariah's just bought her and Nick an amazing hideaway in the West Indies for them to escape to. She's also buying up another getaway in Monte Carlo as she loves chilling out there.”

July 7, 2008 – Some friends of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are saying this Hollywood relationship may be over already. Some friends say they’d be lucky if they last 6 months. Wow, that’s a shocker. Word from the inside says the 38 year old Carey is bossing around 27 year old Cannon, so much so that he’s become a source of ridicule for her friends and business partners. Life and Style Weekly said, “I give the marriage six months, tops. I can’t see it lasting. Nick does whatever Mariah wants him to - he’s like her puppy. It seems like he spends more time in the stores with Mariah’s credit card than he does with Mariah herself.” The magazine adds, “Mariah’s assistants and friends call him 'Whipped Nick’ behind his back. They have little respect for him because he won’t stand up for himself.” Some of his friends however say the pair are a match made in heaven. One friend said, “Mariah needs someone to dote on her.” |

Magazine’s Not Interested in Second “Spectacle” Mariah and Nick Wedding
 June 21, 2008 – “You don’t know what you’re missing.” That’s probably what Mariah Carey is thinking as she finds out no major magazines are remotely interested in paying big bucks for a lavish second wedding pictures with Nick Cannon. The diva is said to have been unsatisfied with the private Bahamas wedding in April to the young actor. She’s 38, he’s 27. So her plan was to go big with a huge ceremony, possibly next month that would have been subsidized by selling exclusive pictures to a magazine. One of the staffers at In Touch Weekly magazine: 'The small wedding in the Bahamas was nice, but it was not Mariah’s style. The lady loves a spectacle.” Adding, “Mariah was willing to pay for the wedding, but the way she hoped to pay for the wedding was through the sale of photos. Carey, 38 and actor Nick Cannon, 27, were married in a secret ceremony on the Caribbean island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. Rumour has it that the singer is sporting a diamond ring worth 2.5 million. Cannon is originally from San Diego, Californian and had his big break playing the lead in 2002's ``Drumline, `it`s his first Marriage. Carey was married once before to music exec Tommy Mottola. Mariah Carey - E=MC2 - "It May be No. 1 but This is Not a Very Good Album"
 May 2, 2008 - There is a constant vehicle in marketing and sales that simply encourages the pitch to decipher what makes the product better than anyone else’s. What makes you different? Sometimes the product speaks for itself; others have to argue their point. Mariah Carey has had an advantage for years via her multi octave voice. She was in the company of Whitney and Celine in vocal prowess. Unfortunately, that special weapon is no guarantee of success. Celine’s last album failed to even reach No. 1 and Whitney was caught sounding like Scatman Crothers at a recent concert in Tobago, of course telling the audience how happy she was to be in Trinidad didn’t help her efforts. Mariah survived the disastrous “Glitter” phase, both acting and singing tsunamis and today she’s the proud owner of the no. 1 album on the Billboard Top 200 with “E=MC2.” Let me start by saying marketing and hoopla can do wonders because this is the biggest piece of earwax I’ve heard since Jennifer Lopez shoved a ginzu knife in my ear with “Brave." Mariah Carey Prefers Dogs to Children
April 26, 2008 – Mariah Carey doesn’t really consider herself a mother type unless your name is fido. The singing star told Britain’s OK! Magazine that she wouldn’t feel comfortable as a mom, "I never wanted to feel violated and I know that's a kind of weird thing to say, but that's how I am.” That’s a strong statement but the diva says it’s because of “childhood traumatic stuff.” Her parent’s separation was tough she says, “I'm not saying it was unstable but it's not ideal either." In previous interviews Carey has made it very clear that if she ever considered children she would have to have a stable married life, something that has evaded the singer. "It's hard to have kids in this world. I don't think I could properly educate a child right now. Maybe in the future, but I actually haven't thought about it. March 22, 2008 – Well, the warning is clear. If you screw with Mariah Carey you’re going to get burnt. The diva recently said she finds it difficult to form new relationships because she is paranoid potential lovers will post compromising footage of her on the internet. The 37 year old singer said, "We live in a world of extremely high technology so it is difficult for me to trust anybody." Touch My Body' from her new album 'E=MC2' explains everything. She sings: "If there's a camera up in here then I'd best not catch this flick on YouTube, 'cos if you run your mouth and brag about this secret rendezvous I will hunt you down." Carey’s marriage to record executive Tommy Mottola ended in 1998 and she had a public break-up with rapper Eminem in 2005. During one of his concerts Eminem actually played a voicemail from Carey. uncomfortable moments while filming her latest
film "Tennessee," including refusing
to deglamourise for her role even though the
script called for it.Unlike Theron and Kidman Carey refused to wear a fake nose,
"Mariah is the nicest person to work with; everyone loves
her. But she was uncomfortable being uglied up for the part,"
New York daily quoted the source, as saying." The role
has her playing a southern waitress who goes on a road trip
with two brothers trying to track down their father. "When
she saw the nose, she called her people and decided against
it. She was not a diva about it, but she did seem very insecure
about her appearance," the source was quoted. So what
version of Mariah Carey will we see in the film? Rumours have
circulated that the only change in appearance will be cornrows

Carey Wants Help From Stephen Hawking

7, 2008 - It's tough being perfect. Mariah
Carey, who technically has one of the
impressive voices in pop music says she needs
to rest her perfect tones in between shows.
Her answer? She wants a voice machine like
british scientist Stephen Hawking. It's not
uncommon for vocalists to rest their voices
on concert day but it's certainly not common
for a multi-octave singer to sound like Ned
from South Park. Carey who usually communicates
via notes on concert-days says, "Before a big show
I'm not allowed to speak for two days. It's boring writing
notes., I need Stephen Hawking's voice machine so I think
and it comes out in a robot voice." Hawking has amyotrophic
lateral sclerosis and uses a synthesizer to communicate.
Also this week Carey has shot down rumours that she's a
bonafide diva. "I've never done a diva-ish thing in
my life," says the 37 year old singer. "The definition
of a diva is a woman who sings well, the second definition
is a woman who's difficult to deal with. I hope I'm the
first but I don't think I'm the second," she added.

Carey Opens Up About Her Breakdown
August
23, 2007 - Mariah Carey says she was "out of control" when she suffered
her very public breakdown in 2001. Talking to "Interview"
magazine this month the singer said, "I consider the
breakdown a breakthrough. I needed to hit rock bottom."
Carey said she had no regrets about the experience, "I
needed to understand the cost of pushing so hard; fighting
so hard against the system. But was I out of control at
that moment? Yes." Her bizarre behavior at the time
worried fans and had the diva disappear from the scene for
months, "I'm far from perfect," says Carey, "I'm
still learning. I overworked myself, and I paid the price."

Tells Mariah Carey to Get Dressed

16, 2004 - The opposition party in Malaysia is telling Mariah
Carey to stay Home. The Islamic Party are not too crazy
about the singers usual skimpy concert attire and are protesting
the government's move to allow a concert this February in
Kuala Lumpur. To make matters worse the show coincides with
an Islamic religious holiday. The Islamic party said the
show would be "an insult to Muslims and will encourage
moral degradation especially among youths. They are hoping

Carey Has to Wait to Be Monroe
January
8, 2004 - We hear she wasn't exactly Oscar material in her
film "Glitter" but she wasn't half bad in "Wisegirls"
so maybe Mariah Carey can pull off a little acting. The
singer will have to wait to continue that side of her career
though as her next project playing Marilyn Monroe was put
on hold this week. "The Prince and The Showgirl"
a stage adaptation of the life of the famous starlet was
set to begin rehearsals this month but turns out the whole
production is behind schedule. Word from the inside is if
the production even gets off the ground it will be much
later this year. Now Carey may not be able to participate
at all because of her busy schedule. "The Prince and

29, 2003 - Pop diva Mariah Carey is expanding her boundaries
with a new project - her life story. The singer has reportedly
been shopping a rough draft of her autobiography to publishers
in New York. Inside source say the book will not be a tell-all
trashy affair but rather a story of overcoming diversity
with a major focus on her childhood. Mariah is said to be
seeking a seven-figure deal for the book that will be written
with music journalist David Ritz. Reports also say that
the book may even contain some poetry written by the singer. |
