REVIEW - Mike MacArthur – Feels Like Home (4 out of 5 Stars)
March 2, 2013 – I think the reputation of a music reviewer is that of a bitter and jaded curmudgeon living in a van down by the river. Years ago after writing a blistering review of a project that sounded half finished the artist approached me at a club and screamed, “You must spend a lot of time looking for things to hate?” “Actually it's the opposite, I answered, “I use my hours looking for the good stuff, 3/4 of the trip, however, is filled cliched blah!” MORE

Review - Terry Wollman - A Joyful Noise - Mango Eater Music (4 Stars out of 5)
November 18, 2012 - Christmas music is a unique animal. A challenging one. Imagine explaining the concept to an alien, "So we celebrate this holiday and musicians, at least once in their careers, get to record the same 30-40 songs and hope that their versions sticks," MORE

REVIEW - Bob Baldwin – Presents Betcha By Golly Wow – The Songs of Thom Bell – Peak Records (**2 out of 5 STARS)
May 1, 2012 - We live in a world where most instrumental music sounds like it was made for a 5x5 vertically moving room and that includes some Smooth Jazz. Interestingly, most Smooth Jazz musicians are technically some of the best players on the planet but many have fallen into this big vacuous hole, an amnesic state, where channelling Bert Kaempfert is common place. MORE

REVIEW - Esperanza Spalding – Radio Music Society (****4 out of 5 Stars) – Heads Up – Concord Music Group
April 4, 2012 – Esperanza Spalding is a groovy chick. I mean, really, when she’s in the room, everyone else disappears and I’m talkin’ more than that big “love-sculpture” hair. She’s the type of musician you might walk up to at a party, ask about her music, and walk away three hours later regretting the question. This lady has a vision so you better have a seat. MORE

Kennard Ramsey – Somos – 5 out of 5
October 20, 2011 – This is no ordinary album. In fact, there is nothing normal about this album and that’s what makes this one of the most perfect projects that’s ever come across my desk. MORE

REVIEW: Colbie Caillat – All of You - Universal Republic
– On her third album Colbie Caillat has decided to strategically give us an uptempo summer-vibe. It still sounds like her smash debut “Coco” but this time it’s Colbie with caffeine and it’s positive and fun. Caillat co-wrote every tune on the album with different famous, mostly behind-the-scenes songsmiths.. MORE

REVIEW - Michael Franks – Time Together – Shanachie Records
– There are not too many things in life as deliciously lazy as Michael Franks voice. The guy could chill out someone on deaths door. Seriously, angst has no place on a Michael Franks record – he’s good at one great thing..making you feel good! MORE

Kenny G Files For Divorce
August 17, 2012 - After 20 years of marriage, well known Smooth Jazz saxophonist, Kenny G has split from his wife, Balynda Helene Benson-Gorelick filing irreconcilable differences.

The couple have been apart since the beginning of the year when Balynda initially filed for legal separation.

The couple have two children Max 17 and Noah 14 and Kenny is seeking joint custody for them both but doesn’t want to pay spousal support.

He also mentions that he and Balynda have a pre-nuptial agreement and the 45 year old musician is currently worth around 50 million.

Kenny's latest single is 'Namaste' featuring Rahul Sharma and is currently charting at #17 on the Smooth Jazz Now TOP 50 Chart.. - By Shannon Edwards

Kenny G's Wife Files For Separation
January 20, 2012- Kenny G may be standing in the ring with his wife of 20 years, Lyndie Benson-Gorelick. According to TMZ she has recently filed papers for a legal separation from the sax player in L.A. County Superior Court stating “irreconcilable differences.”

Both parties have hired bigwig lawyers and maybe that's in preparation for a match in divorce court. TMZ reports Kenny has scooped up lawyer Laura Wasser, who has represented Angelina Jolie and Kim Kardashian.

The couple has two sons and apparently a bunch of money floating around, it's an estimated 48 million. It’s also not known if they had a prenup, so as you can imagine, both parties  will be treading around here lightly.  - by Shannon Edwards

Kenny G Goes Nuts for Christmas
Nov. 14, 2008 – I just love it when a Jewish guy gets all hyped up on Christmas. Kenny G is planning a huge radio special for Christmas. Kenny, whose real name is Kenneth Gorelick has a 48 hour special of instrumental Smooth Jazz classics produced by radio consultant Broadcast Architecture.

Kenny G currently hosts a midday weekend show on BA’s Smooth Jazz Network. He has released 6 Christmas albums.

Kenny G Likes to Fly Solo
June 5, 2008 – Some people might say spotting  Kenny G, Yanni, John Tesh and Michael Bolton on the same tour bus might be a sign of the end of times. Actually, the rumour was that the four musicians were forming a super-group called the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse, ok maybe that last part was a lie. Kenny G says he’s not sure where the rumour came from,  “I was just as surprised as everybody else when I read it. I like doing my own thing and I think that's what keeps me sounding different and having my own thing, which is just concentrating on my own music and recording it my way and just keeping my brand exclusive." The saxophonist likes to be a solo artist and says you’ll never see him in a super group. Though the four musicians are attacked frequently, sometimes unfairly by critics it would be a daunting task to get them to record and work together. The latest Kenny G album Single Sax-O-Loco peaked at No. on the Smooth Jazz charts. – Kari Graham
For a Guy People Love to Hate Kenny G Sure Sells A lot
Kenny G Hists Number One Again
April 5, 2008 – Poor Kenny G has been the brunt of lots of jokes but if the guys is so lame why does he continue to top the charts? His “Sax-O-Loco” the first single from “Rhythm & Romance” his first all-Latin album has topped the charts. The album is his first on the joint partnership distribution with Concord Records and Starbucks. Kenny has proven to be loyal to the people who helped him along the way working with the same bunch of collaborators including producer, Walter Afanasieff. Kenny says, Walter and I have worked together for well over 20 years. And he's just an amazing musician, great producer, so we really worked hand in hand on this with the arrangements and the recording process and the mixing and all the parts. And he's just been a big part of al lot of my music and a very integral part of this one." Rhythm & Romance debuted at Number One on the Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz Albums chart.
Kenny To Premiere New "Romance" CD on Wave
January 8, 2008 - There's good buzz on the new Kenny G project. The saxophonist is set to release "Rhythm & Romance" on the Starbucks label in February. Both will have Kenny G hosting the festivities. Contact Wave VP of programming Paul Goldstein at pgoldstein@947thewave.com. Deadline is Jan 9. - by John Beaudin

Review - Kenny G - At Last…The Duets Album
March 27, 2005- Anytime superstar saxophonist Kenny G releases new material, it creates shockwaves heard all over the Smooth Jazz world. But his 2002 release, Paradise, left a little to be desired. It lacked the usual effort and emotion Kenny has always put into his music going all the way back to the Duotones days. So when it was announced "At Last…The Duets Album" was set for release, it was intriguing for two reasons: To hear an improved new effort from Kenny, and to hear more covers of songs from him, after the great success of his "Classics in the Key of G" album. "At Last" certainly gives you a reason to listen, and not just to Kenny himself. More

Covers and Duets Highlight Next Kenny G Album
November 3, 2004 - Kenny G plans to cover a lot of ground on his next album. The saxophonist will feature covers of older tracks like "Alfie" a duet with its writer Burt Bacharach moving up to present day tunes like Outkast's "The Way You Move" featuring Earth Wind and Fire. The new CD "At Last, The Duets Album" will feature some big name friends including LeAnn Rimes on Bryan Adams biggest hit "Everything I Do I Do for You," and Yolanda Adams joins in for a rendition of R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly." Also on the project are Earl Klugh and Brian McKnight on Wham's "Careless Whisper" and Richard Marx doing Elton John's "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word." Also on the album are Mick Hucknall, Daryl Hall, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan and Arturo Sandoval. The album will only have two instrumentals including a take on Norah Jones "Don't Know Why" featuring Jim Brickman on piano. Kenny G is the biggest artist in instrumental music according to record sales. The new album is due Nov. 23.

Kenny G To Return Before Years End
June 10, 2004 - Kenny G hasn't released an album of all new material since 'Paradise' in September of 2002. Since then he has put out his third Christmas CD 'Wishes' and his fifth 'Best of' called 'Ultimate Kenny G.' The latest word from the popular saxophonists camp is his new album will be in stores by the end of the year. He is currently recording the album to feature his regular formula of instrumental and vocal love songs. Kenny G remains the biggest selling artist in Smooth Jazz having sold over seventy million albums worldwide.

New Kenny G Ultimate Collection CD
May 2 , 2003 - Arista records has just announced another 'best of Kenny G' to be released June 10th. The "Ultimate Kenny G," will feature 19 tracks spanning the veteran instrumentalist's 16-year career. The compilation also includes three singles previously unavailable on any U.S. album. They include "Jasmine Flower," a traditional Japanese melody issued only as a single in that market in 1992. "My Heart Will Go On (Love Theme from Titanic)," was only previously issued as a promotional single for radio airplay in 1998. There will only be one new song on the compilation called "Everlasting." Kenny G's latest CD "Paradise," debuted at No. 9 on The Billboard 200 in October and has sold .413,000 copies in the U.S. alone.
