Charles Beaudin is Smooth Jazz Canada's Birthday's Columnist.
Growing up in Miramichi, New Brunswick Charles listened to bands like Styx, Kansas, Genesis, Toto and Boston. Playing sports and being active has always been a part of his life growing up, from Soccer, Softball, Track and Field to Table Tennis. Being the little brother of John Beaudin and hearing so much about Smooth Jazz it was hard not to get interested in the genre, He got hooked! Charles is married to Linda Beaudin and has three stepchildren Natalie, Denis and Bradley. He loves to read and go hiking in the woods, getting closer to nature and music is what inspires him.

Charles was born on October 12th, 1964 in Montreal, Quebec.

Who would you love to have coffee with? Well, that's easy. Mindi Abair. There is something about a woman and a saxophone, and she can really play!

What drives you nuts? People pretending to be something that their not or people who blame all their misfortunes on others.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? Ice Cream! There is no special time of the year for that.

Best concert you've ever seen? That would have to be David Bowie, Peter Gabriel and The Tubes when they played Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Alberta.

Ever have a crush on a celebrity? Martie Seidel of the Dixie Chicks.

Does smooth Jazz have a future in Canada? I think as long as there is airplay and interest there will be a future. Lets face it, it's a growing industry.

Favorite people in the world? My wife Linda, she is my world also my family.

Favorite album of all time? One that stands out is Duke by Genesis but I have many!

What music would people be surprised that you listen to? New Age, for myself this is the most relaxing music for me.
